 STARLIMS Australasia Established
STARLIMS Australasia Pty Ltd., recently established as a privately owned company, is the authorized distributor of STARLIMS products across Australia and New Zealand. It will support and augment STARLIMS’s growth in the region by overseeing marketing, pre-sales support, sales and ongoing technical and professional services.

“Demand for STARLIMS products is steadily increasing in this region,” said STARLIMS Asia Pacific, General Manager, Linus Chu. “We are fortunate to have two LIMS experts heading the new office, Bob Blunden and Graham Thompson, and I have every confidence that our regional presence will grow rapidly under their leadership.”
Decades of LIMS Expertise in Australasia
Directors Bob Blunden and Graham Thompson have many years experience in sales and implementation of LIMS and other informatics projects—in multiple industries across Australia and New Zealand. Combined with their expertise in automating laboratory processes, this allows them to provide the most effective solutions for laboratories in process, analytical, environmental, forensic and clinical industries.

About Bob Blunden
The Australia and New Zealand representative of STARLIMS since May 2007, Bob Blunden has over 30 years of experience in Information Technology and Informatics. He has served as: Director, Informatics Asia Pacific for Thermo Electron; Director, Informatics Asia Pacific for Waters Asia; Founder and Director, Right Approach consultancy for informatics, knowledge management and business systems; IT Director for an international biopharmaceutical company; Business Systems Manager for an international pharmaceutical company; and Principal Hospital Scientist, Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science in Australia. Bob has published scientific papers in journals such as Pathology, Clinical Chemistry and The Medical Journal of Australia. He has a BSc from the University of Adelaide in Australia and is a member of the Australian Computer Society.
About Graham Thompson
Graham has over 25 years experience in Information Technology and Informatics. Most recently, he was a Sales Manager at Thermo-Fisher, selling LIMS and chromatography data systems to a wide range of laboratories throughout the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, he had a decade-long tenure at Triple G Corporation, (a LIS vendor that was aquired by GE Healthcare) where he gained vast experience in system implementation, project management, software development and pathology informatics. In his final years at the company, Graham served as Managing Director, Triple G Asia Pacific. He has also served as Laboratory Manager of Pearson Laboratory in Christchurch, and in the Hematology/Transfusion unit at Southland Hospital in New Zealand.
