STARLIMS has been at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) since 1987. At this time the company’s mission focuses on introducing the first commercial PC-based LIMS system into a market ready to adopt this technology but dominated by “legacy systems” running on mainframe or mini computers. Since this time we have continued to develop our LIMS solutions in accordance with changing and advancing technology. Our adoption of new technology has always been aligned with the business and laboratory needs of our customers. Most recently, STARLIMS introduced the industry’s first entirely web-based LIMS, which combines unrivaled functionality, combined with ease of use, scalability and simplified deployment.

While the STARLIMS product development philosophy is based on deploying the latest technology to meet the needs of our customers, it also ensures that the investment that our customers make in our products, together with their intellectual property and assets, are protected or “future proofed”. To this end we have developed a powerful multi-tier architecture that separates the customer’s own business rules and logic, together with their data, from the underlying STARLIMS technology layer. This allows for simplified upgrades and means that all aspects of the customer’s investment, including the investment in staff training, are protected over the long term.
A Worldwide LIMS Service Infrastructure
As important as the technology and functionality of the system are the services available to support our customers during the implementation and subsequent life of the system. STARLIMS provides full implementation, support and, through the STARLIMS Academy, training services for all our customers. STARLIMS solutions are backed by a network of over 150 dedicated service personnel located across the globe. These teams provide local professional services, including requirements definition and gap analysis, system installation and configuration, testing and validation. They also ensure that STARLIMS is integrated with corporate systems and analytical instruments as needed. A dedicated team is allocated to each customer, providing support from the initial site survey through implementation and beyond. In this way our customers benefit from continuous contact with a skilled and knowledgeable team familiar with their specific requirements, environment and personnel. Customers with a valid support agreement also have unlimited access to their local support desks and receive all product updates as part of the support agreement.
A Global Network of LIMS Professionals
Our facilities in Hollywood, Florida are the headquarters of our sales, implementation and support operations. A worldwide network of offices and partners provides our customers, and potential customers, access to a truly global organization capable of meeting all their LIMS needs. In addition to the core development team located in Hollywood. Florida, STARLIMS operates a Life Sciences Center of Excellence in Montreal, Canada to provide specialist focus on these demanding areas.
