STARLIMS Selected for Veterans Administration Biobank

The VA’s Million Veteran Program aims to collect and characterize biological samples from one million veteran volunteers, and make them available to facilitate scientific and medical research. STARLIMS is providing the information management backbone for the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center (MAVERIC), a core biobank in this ambitious initiative. STARLIMS will help ensure that standard operating procedures are followed in bio-sample collection, processing and storage—so the scientific value of the biobank assets are maximized. It will also set the groundwork to facilitate process harmonization throughout the Million Veteran Project.
